A: “So, are you two still living in Panama City at Carmen’s house?”

C: Smiles and wraps her fingers in Gabriel’s. “Yeah.  I want to stay close to Lissy and the Greers as long as possible.  Gabriel says that we can stick around for another ten or so years before people start to notice that we don’t seem to be aging.”

G: Flips Carmen’s hand over and starts making a spiral design that starts in the center.  “Laura is about to drive Carmen crazy with wedding planning details.  Mary, too, both of those women want to see her become a Vorrian.”

C: Huffs, “I said I would marry you.  I didn’t say that I would parade around like some over indulged princess.  Can’t we just run away to Vegas or something?”

G: Shakes with quiet laughter.  “Not happening.  I have already been cornered by each of those women, and they plan on gelding me if I let you talk me into running away and eloping.”

A: “Carmen, honey.  Get over it.  They love you.  Remember, your marriage – their wedding.”

C: Rolls her eyes at me, “Not you too.”
